The long awaited replacement for Vista has arrived and has gone live on desktops and laptops. With a much improved core, better security and performance Windows 7 has raised the standard for operating systems.
Developers working on Windows 7 have looked into the features and annoyances that plagued Vista and have improved the interface, functions and end-user experience. There are now only 3 versions available (Home Premium, Professional and Enterprise/Ultimate) but these have been expanded to both 32 and 64bit platforms.
Windows 7 now gives such benefits as dramatically faster load times, improved desktop navigation, XP mode to run older applications, BitLocker encryption to secure your PC and USB drives as well as a new driver database and other assorted features.
New PC's are now being released with this operating system installed and certain PC's or laptops bought in the recent months qualify for the upgrade (delivery charges apply).
